Jacqueline Slavney grew up in England but emigrated to America in 1966.
She learned the basics of photography as an undergraduate at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland where she studied with Beverly Wilgus. Since then she has worked independently at first in the darkroom and more recently with the computer and Photoshop. She does her own printing using only the best quality inks and papers. Her usual subjects are from nature, especially flowers and trees.
Ms Slavney lives with her husband and two cats in Baltimore where she volunteers as a docent at the Walters Art Museum.
