Beautiful lifetime kakemono or vertical diptych by Eisen (1790-1848) showing a beauty looking into a small decorative hand mirror. She tilts her head down as she examines her reflection closely, her mouth slightly agape. She wears striped blue kimono with floral motifs, tied with a banded obi. Her hair is pulled back into a sleek bun, accented with hairpins and a large comb, a few loose wisps framing her face. Her kimono trails onto the ground, her bare feet peeping out from under her red under robe. A lovely design beautifully suited to the kakemono format. Excellent colour and impression, two seperate panels, a few small worm holes, loss at lower left, all repaired, some creasing and slight soiling. Framed in Brushed Gold.
